L&R OPTILINE service solution has already won more than 900 customers

It is a real success story: for more than 25 years, L&R OPTILINE has stood for efficiency, partnership and expertise in the healthcare sector. L&R's service solution was set up in 1997 under the name "Vollversorgungskonzept Klinik" in the German hospital sector. It was renamed L&R OPTILINE in 2006 and rolled out internationally in 2010. Today, more than 900 customers, including the Rotkreuzklinikum München (Munich) and the Isar Clinic (also in Munich), have successfully implemented L&R OPTILINE and use the service solution for optimizing products and processes.

L&R is known to many stakeholders in the healthcare sector as a supplier of more than 60,000 products for wound care, bandages and OR products (set systems & hygiene). L&R has also been offering the L&R OPTILINE service solution for more than 25 years. Customers in hospitals and private practice benefit from L&R's strategic partnership and expertise in process optimization and efficiency enhancement. With L&R OPTILINE, L&R meets the constantly growing challenges faced by clinics and practices on a daily basis, such as increasing competition in terms of quality, cost and time pressure, shortage of specialists and outpatient care, and enables sustainable and customer-specific optimization of processes and products.

Customized analysis and optimization
Following consultation with L&R experts, L&R OPTILINE supports decision-makers and users in standardizing processes, making patient care more economical, linking the goals of the administration with those of the users and optimizing outpatient units. The aim is to give customers more time for their essential tasks - i.e. patient care.

Lilli Gampe, Global Head of L&R OPTILINE at L&R: „L&R OPTILINE has been a real success story for more than 25 years! More than 900 customers worldwide benefit from a tailor-made service solution that takes their individual needs into account, identifies potential savings and optimizes processes. We are very proud to make our contribution to improving healthcare beyond first-class products. Decision-makers, users and ultimately also patients benefit from this."

Customers confirm the economic added value of L&R OPTILINE
Customers can choose from various modules, which are analyzed, evaluated and optimized in detail by the L&R OPTILINE experts. These are wards, the OR, negative pressure therapy, administration and outpatient units. The company places particular emphasis on individual services in the areas of logistics, digitalization, e-business and sustainability. Here, customers benefit from L&R's many years of experience and innovative tools, which helps them to achieve real added value.

Andreas Wolf, Head of Administration at Isar Klinikum Munich, is convinced by L&R OPTILINE and emphasizes the sustainability aspect, among other things: "We originally opted for the L&R Kitpack OR Custom Procedure Tray, in which most products are not individually packed, saving on process costs. We were also able to reduce waste with the Kitpack, which means that less packaging has to be disposed of compared to working with individual products."

In addition to an OR project, which involved Raucodrape draping systems as the core element, and the negative pressure therapy project, the range of products on the wards was also optimized: "Standardization of the seven normal wards was particularly effective for us. It was interesting to find out whether there might be an alternative for an item in one ward in another ward, or whether an item in a ward is now redudant and is only still there for historical reasons. In this way, we’ve been able to save on volume, materials and process costs," says Andreas Wolf.

Dirk Schmuda, Head of Central Purchasing at the Red Cross Clinic in Munich, reports on the results for his hospital in the L&R OPTILINE outpatient area: "[...] With L&R OPTILINE we have the added value of process optimization. We can order everything from a single source, which gives our employees more time for their core processes."

According to Dirk Schmuda, good results were also achieved in the product area: "Firstly, the single-use instruments project. For this project, optimization proposals and their benefits were presented at a monetary and process level. Implementation was smooth and well-structured. Another ist the modern wound care project. A main result of this has been savings in process costs as added value."

Lilli Gampe (L&R) points out the monetary benefits that can be possible, referring to a reference customer example: "We analyzed the degree of utilization in the area of consultation supplies at a clinical medical care center with over 10 specialist disciplines, as there is often significant savings potential here. For this customer, we were able to save EUR 44,800 per year in this way."
