Orthosis for immobilisation of the thumb
Velpeau Rhizo Classic is an orthosis for the thumb. A stabilisation element encircles the thumb laterally, immobilising the thumb carpometacarpal and the metacarpophalangeal joints.

Fields of application
- immobilisation in the case of posttraumatic and postoperative conditions in articulatio metacarpophalangealis I (thumb basal joint) and/or articulatio carpometacarpalis pollicis (thumb saddle joint)
- immobilisation in the case of an ulnar ligament injury (skier’s thumb)
- immobilisation in the case of chronic instability of the joints of the thumb
- immobilisation in the case of degenerative changes in articulatio metacarpophalangealis I (thumb basal joint) and/or articulatio carpometacarpalis pollicis (thumb saddle joint) (scaphotrapezio-trapezoid arthritis, rhizarthritis)
