High levels of customer satisfaction and positive turnover trends underline the L&R growth strategy.

Lohmann & Rauscher Success through innovative solutions in medical, patient care and hygiene products.

Lohmann & Rauscher International GmbH & Co. KG (L&R) is a leading international manufacturer and supplier of medical and hygiene products. With over 4,000 employees, 40 group companies and shareholdings in 21 countries, 2014 saw L&R achieve a turnover of over 520 million Euros.

As a supplier of solutions for the complex demands of patient care and treatment, L&R develops, produces and markets products for wound care, bandages and dressings, supports and orthoses, set systems for hospitals and private practice, and products for NPWT.

One factor in the L&R success is the regular dialogue which they hold with doctors, nursing staff and representatives of medical institutions in central markets. A representative customer survey from early 2015 conducted in eight European countries attests to the high degree of expertise, quality and reliability of the L&R products and services.

L&R was formed in 1998 through the fusion of the two German and Austrian family-run companies Lohmann and Rauscher. Company headquarters remain in Rengsdorf and Vienna.

Ambitious growth targets in Europe and world-wide

Since the fusion of the two companies, L&R has been able to increase its turnover by up to 80 percent. The company plans not only to maintain this ambitious growth strategy over the coming years, but to increase its turnover.

“In the next few years, we are seeking to expand through both organic growth and further acquisitions, so as to continue our expansion in all strategically important international markets. We already laid down some markers in 2014: the acquisition of the American company Solaris (a specialist in lymphology), the foundation of L&R China with offices in Shanghai and Beijing and the establishment of offices in Macedonia/Montenegro, Serbia and Dubai”, reported Wolfgang Süßle, Chair of the Board of Managers.

Over the coming years, we plan to expand in strategically important markets such as South America and Asia.

At present, a significant proportion of our turnover is realized in Europe; by 2020 we hope to expand to make extra-European sales account for over 50% of turnover.

In focus: Innovative solutions for wound care – in Europe and world-wide

L&R’s focus in the field of wound care includes
Debrisoft, an innovative fibre pad for low-pain wound cleansing and the Suprasorb CNP brand – a range of products for NPWT.

“Our aim is to strengthen our market position in these sectors through further innovations and product launches”, said Georg Stadler, Deputy Chair of the Board of Managers. “The challenges which we face on international markets and the high level of customer satisfaction enjoyed by our products and solutions in the medical, care and hygiene sectors provide confirmation for our current course”.

The medical devices manufacturer is always actively involved in the most important branch events on the international markets. In 2015 alone, L&R will have a presence at more than 200 events and conferences worldwide, where they participate in symposia, present studies and engage in dialogue. The Conference of the European Wound Management Association in London (May 2015), the Arab Health conference in Dubai (January 2015) and the most important healthcare trade fair in Chile (July 2015) are also on the company’s agenda.
