Lohmann & Rauscher International GmbH & Co. KG (L&R), a leading international manufacturer and supplier of medical and hygiene products, is pursuing a continuous growth strategy and investing in the development of its two US subsidiaries. A modernized, larger site in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, will allow the company to merge its two North American subsidiaries: Solaris Inc. and Lohmann & Rauscher Inc. The new US headquarters was officially opened at the end of June 2015 by Wolfgang Süßle, CEO and President of L&R.
Lohmann & Rauscher acquired Solaris, Inc., a company specializing in the lymphology and compression sector, in November 2014. L&R now intends to expand the Milwaukee site, allowing Lohmann & Rauscher Inc., previously located in Topeka, Kansas, to relocate there by September 2015. “We are simplifying our logistics operations and will be closer to our customers thanks to our integrated distribution network. L&R will be bundling its US activities at the centrally located and easily accessible site near Chicago, Illinois. By doing this, we are laying the foundation for further growth in the strategically important US market in the years to come,” said Wolfgang Süßle, CEO and President of the L&R Group, at the opening of the new headquarters.
Lohmann & Rauscher develops, produces and markets products for wound care, bandages and dressings, supports and orthoses, set systems for hospitals and private practice, and products for negative pressure wound treatment. L&R’s highlights in the field of wound care include Debrisoft, an innovative fiber pad for low-pain wound cleansing, and the Suprasorb CNP brand—a range of products for negative pressure wound treatment. With the acquisition of Solaris, the company expanded its expertise in the field of lymphology and compression with products that complement the medical device manufacturer’s portfolio in the key business segment of bandages and dressings.
