L&R’s classic Cellona Plaster of Paris Bandage is celebrating its birthday

85 YEARS OF CELLONA – STIFF BUT NOT PAST IT YET

Cellona became the world’s first fixed Plaster of Paris bandage in 1930. Back then it opened up completely new treatment options – because the innovative application of the plaster product to the bandage creates a ready-to-dip plaster of Paris bandage for immediate use. 85 years after its invention, it is still state of the art and used for the first aid of fractures and after operations or orthopaedic corrections. The plaster of Paris bandage has been continually further developed and improved over the years, e.g., through the introduction of a perforated bandage core for optimal water flow and the market launch of splints in different sizes. L&R’s classic product is characterized by ease of use, rapid setting and high shape stability.

L&R also offers a special app on immobilization with plaster for doctors and nursing staff (www.lohmann-rauscher.at/de/produkte/gipsraum.html). The L&R Academy’s continuing education and training programme also offers hands-on continuing education sessions on plaster application techniques several times a year.
