Suprasorb® Liquacel Ag

Wound Dressing with Antimicrobial Silver and Strengthening Cellulose Fibre

Suprasorb® Liquacel Ag offers excellent absorption while maintaining a stable structure thanks to its blend of carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) fibres and Lyocell fibres.

Not only is the unique silver nanotechnology effective against biofilm73) and a broad spectrum of pathogens such as MRSA*72) , but it also has a low cytotoxicity77) profile.

The CMC fibres promote efficient exudate management74) and help with autolytic debridement. Its stable structure prevents it from shrinking after the gel forms78) , so the dressing can be removed in one piece72) .

    Fields of application

For treating superficial or deep wounds with moderate to high levels of exudate.

    Indications:

    • second-degree burns
    • lower leg ulcers, pressure ulcers and diabetic ulcers
    • surgical wounds
    • wounds which are prone to bleeding

    Wound healing stages:

    • Exudation phase
    • Granulation phase

    Properties

    • Contains nanosilver technology, which destroys biofilm.*)
    • Effective against a broad spectrum of pathogens, including MRSA.
    • Low cytotoxicity thanks to the continuous release of silver ions.
    • Even when the dressing is moist its structure remains intact, and can be removed in one piece.
    • Effective exudate management due to high vertical absorption and which protects the wound edges from maceration.
    • Support of autolytic debridement and trapping bacteria and cell debris in the dressing.

    To note

    • Before application Can be cut to the size of the wound.
    • Can be retained with a suitable secondary dressing, e.g. Suprasorb® P sensitive, depending on the level of exudate.
    • Can be used under compression.

    Dressing change interval:

    • The interval between changes should be no more than 7 days.
