Fabio Cortesi Named CCO of the L&R Group

Expansion of L&R Group Executive Board  
 

Rengsdorf/Vienna, September 1, 2025 – The L&R Group is a leading, internationally active private company specializing in medical devices, hygiene products and services. L&R develops, manufactures, and sells products and services for wound care, including negative pressure wound therapy, bandages & supports, and OR set systems and hygiene products. With today more than 5,700 employees worldwide, more than 50 subsidiaries and shareholdings, L&R is present in all major markets around the globe. The group of companies achieved a sales volume of approximately 813 million euros in 2024. The L&R Advisory Board unanimously appointed Fabio Cortesi as an additional member of the Executive Board as of September 1, 2025.

 

As Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), Fabio Cortesi will be responsible for worldwide sales of the Group. After the changes in the L&R Executive Board at the end of last year – as communicated Thomas Menitz was named CEO after the former CEO Wolfgang Süßle left the company by mutual agreement – the Executive Board again has four members. Thomas Menitz is CEO and COO, Holger Mägdefrau is CFO and Senior Executive Vice President and Dr. Klemens Schulz is CPO.

Fabio Cortesi, born and raised in Italy, was Senior Vice President Europe at the MedTech company KARL STORZ from 2020 to June 2025, responsible for the entire commercial region. Before that he gained deep global experience in sales at multiple companies in the healthcare industry. He spent nine years at Getinge, a publicly listed MedTech company, in positions of increasing responsibility, including from 2018 – 2020 as Director of Global Sales and Global Commercial Operations for the Vascular Systems division. Fabio Cortesi holds advanced university degrees in Biomedical Engineering, Business Administration and Health Economics from universities in Italy, UK and Spain. In this new role as CCO, Cortesi will be based in the Vienna office.
