Fields of application

  • for critically colonised or infected, fetid wounds
  • for wounds at higher risk of infection
  • Absorbent dressing:
    • for heavily exuding superficial wounds
  • Rope:
    • for packing deep wounds
    • as wound dressing for superficial wounds

Properties

  • absorbs wound odours and exudate
  • due to the silver component (Ag) has an antibacterial effect, even for multiresistant pathogens (MRSA, VRE)
  • retains endotoxins
  • additional clothing protection layer prevents exudate leakage

To note

  • do not cut because activated charcoal particles could get into the wound

Themes

    A skin-friendly, air-permeable nonwoven cover helps transfer the exudate to the absorbent core. The activated charcoal is inherently able to absorb bacteria. The clothing protection layer acts as a barrier to liquid and largely prevents exudate leakage.
