Orthosis for immobilisation of the wrist and thumb
Cellacare Rhizocast Classic is a wrist and thumb orthosis for immobilisation in two directions. It facilitates immobilisation of the wrist, the thumb carpometacarpal and metacarpophalangeal joints.

Fields of application
- immobilisation in cases of posttraumatic, postoperative conditions in the wrist area and the metacarpophalangeal joint and/or the carpometacarpal (saddle or basal) joint of the thumb and in the case of ulnar ligament injury (skier’s thumb)
- immobilisation in the case of degenerative changes in articulatio metacarpophalangealis I (thumb basal joint) and/or articulatio carpometacarpalis pollicis (thumb saddle joint) (scaphotrapezio-trapezoid arthritis, rhizarthritis)
- immobilisation in the case of inflammation of the tendons of the hand (tendovaginitis)
- Immobilisation in the case of initial carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS)
